About The Tutors
Our tutors are highly skilled and experienced photographers who combine a love of the medium with the willingness and ability to share their knowledge.
James Gilberd
James Gilberd has 20+ years experience in photography, as a professional and in retail. He has a Certificate of Professional Photography from Wellington Polytechnic (1987), and a Bachelor of Design degree (photography major) from Victoria University (1996). James currently owns and runs Photospace gallery and studio.

Dave Sanderson
Dave has a 12 year history with photography much of which has been spent within the industry. He has studied under multiple under-graduate programmes over a 6 year period in the UK, and has a BA (Hons) degree in Design for Digital Media from The University of Derby, UK (2006). He continues to work within the industry and operates as a freelance photographer specialising in portraiture and commercial work.

John Williams
John works as a freelance photographer and has been teaching photography for a number of years in a variety of educational environments including community education, tertiary and secondary. He is currently studying for a masters degree in adult education, and holds a Bachelor of Design (Hons), Massey University 2003, and certificates in Professional Photography (1993) and Advanced Photography (1994) from Wellington Polytechnic.
His major area of interest is documentary photography, and he has been working on a long-term project on faith, ritual and worship. His exhibition "Take Me to the River" showed at Pataka Museum of Arts and Culture, Porirua, in 2011.
